Lady cop misbehaved, attacked by miscreants at Mahabinayak shrine

Jajpur: A lady police constable was injured after some youths attacked her at Mahabinayak shrine near Chandikhol in Jajpur district today.

The injured cop identified as Bilasini Nayak was admitted to Badachana Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment. She sustained injuries on her neck and head.

Police forces were deployed at the famous shrine to maintain law and order due to heavy crowd in the picnic season. Three youths came in a bike and tried to park the vehicle in no parking area. When the constable opposed, they misbehaved with her and attacked, DSP Sudhakar Sahu said.

A case has been registered at Badachana Police Station and raids are being conducted at different places to arrest the accused, Sahu added.
