Key aide of D-brothers arrested

Cuttack: Commissionerate Police arrested Tapan Routray, a key aide of notorious criminal siblings Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamanta, today.

Sources said Tapan Routray alias Kulu was looking after the illegal businesses of the D brothers. He was involved in illegal activities like tender fixing, extortion and sand quarry business operated by the brother duo. Kulu was the most wanted accused person in the D-brothers case, said police.

With this, the total number of arrested persons in the D-brothers case has now reached 36.

On July 30, a special team of the Commissionerate Police had arrested two associates of Dhal Samanta brothers, Debadatta Das alias Lipuna (23) and Chandan Behera (30), from Kolkata.
