Kanan Vihar murder: Police arrests one, interrogation on

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police today arrested a person on charges of murdering a woman here in Kanan Vihar under Chandrasekhar police limits on September 25.

The accused, Pradyumna Parida was arrested today in the Capital city and is being interrogated, police sources said. However, the exact cause of the murder has not been ascertained yet.

The woman, Haseena Das, a resident of Erasama in Jagatsinghpur district, was working as a nurse in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Initial reports claimed her neck bore deep cuts. During the investigation, police found some clues about the involvement of the girl’s friend Pradyumna and launched a manhunt to nab him. Almost after a week, the accused was arrested.

“We are interrogating him. Further investigation is on,” said a police official.

The woman was reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances from a house in Kanan Vihar on September 26 after which police and forensic personnel reached the spot and began investigation into the incident.
