Cuttack/Malkangiri/Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance officials today unearthed huge disproportionate assets of over Rs 2 crore during simultaneous raids on the houses and office of Himanshu Sekhar Panda, Junior Engineer, ITDA, Malkangiri.
Talking to media persons, HN Pati, DSP, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division said on the strength of search warrants issued by the court on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Himanshu Sekhar Panda, Junior Engineer, ITDA, Malkangiri, the Vigilance officials of Bhubaneswar today conducted simultaneous raids on his house at Badagada Brit Colony in Bhubaneswar, CDA, Bidanasi in Markat Nagar area in Cuttack, paternal house at Lekhanpur village under Salipur police station limits in Cuttack and rented residential house and office room in Malkangiri.
The immovable assets include a plot (Rs 46,000) and a triple storeyed building at Badagada Brit Colony, Bhubaneswar (Rs 18,65,700) and one triple storeyed building at Sector-9, CDA, Bidanasi in Markat Nagar area of Cuttack (Rs 65,13,186) in the name of Panda’s wife valued at Rs 84,25,286.
The movable assets include household articles including electronic and electrical gadgets, furniture etc., of Rs 9,23,945, one Vespa Scooter, one Bajan Pulser bike and one Ford Dura Car valued at Rs 8.58 lakh, hard cash worth Rs 15,945, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4,95,330, cash worth Rs 5 lakh deposited in different banks, investment in ICICI Prudential Life Insurance worth Rs 87 lakh and one revolver and one pistol valued at Rs 2 lakh.
“The total assets Panda has been calculated as Rs 2,01,18,506 so far,” Pati informed.
Panda had joined as Junior Engineer in Irrigation department on August 1, 1994 and posted to Karanjia Irrigation Division. Later he was posted to ITDA, Champua in 2004 on deputation from Irrigation department. He was posted as Junior Engineer, ITDA, Keonjhar, Gunupur and Baliguda and presently posted to ITDA, Malkangiri since October 2015 and continuing as such till date.
