Jumbo herd halts traffic on Athgarh-Mundali road

Athgarh: A herd of elephants created a flutter on Athgarh-Mundali road near Dalakhai temple in Cuttack district paralysing traffic for more than an hour on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 15 jumbos stood ground near the temple preventing commuters to pass the road. The animals also reportedly damaged a bike and chased people.

Some locals informed the forest officials following which they rushed to the spot and drove away the elephants to the nearest forest.

The traffic was allowed to move only after the elephants left the area.
