JE toll rises to 121 in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: The death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Malkangiri district reached 121 with the death of another kid at the district headquarters hospital today.

The deceased was identified as Juli Madakami of Palakonda village under Korukonda block. With this, total six children of Palakonda village have so far been died of the vector-borne disease.

Despite various steps and awareness programmes, the JE situation is not under control in the district. All efforts of district administration and State government seem to have less impact as the toll continues to rise by the day.
