Mahanga: The then junior engineer PK Rout of Mahanga has been suspended by the district collector for misappropriating MLA Local Area Development (LAD) funds. Rout is accused of misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 50,000.
Moreover, show-cause notices have been served on the assistant engineer and the Block Development Officer (BDO) in this regard.
Notably, Rs 50,000 was approved from the LAD funds for renovation of ‘Banua Mahapurusa Mandap’ in Etamunduli village. However, as per allegations, fake photographs and bills were submitted without constructing the Mandap and funds were bungled.
