Bhograi: Irate locals ransacked a police outpost and set a bike on fire after a clash between two communities in Bhograi block of Balasore district last night.
Members of a particular community alleged they were attacked by miscreants of another community during Pata Parva celebrations. Following the attack, the first group demanded immediate action against the miscreants.
Irked by the delay in police action, the irate mob, in a fit of rage, vandalized the Laxmipatana police outpost and set ablaze a two wheeler.
Later, five persons of the community were detained by police, triggering a road blockade in Laxmipatana. In view of the ongoing tension, heavy police force has been deployed in the area to contain any further flare up.
