In-laws booked for torturing woman

Cuttack: Four persons of a family including the father-in-law and the mother-in-law of a woman were arrested today on charges of torturing her at Srikoruan village under Sadar police limits in the district.

The arrest was made after the woman staged dharna in front of her in-laws house seeking justice.

According to the complaint, the woman belonging to Cuttack city got married to one Jyoti Prasad Mohanty of Jagatsinghpur after falling in love with him a few years ago.

She alleged that her parents had given money to her husband for construction of a house. After receiving the amount, her in-laws forced her to leave the home, she said in her complaint.

The victim further alleged her husband had extra-marital affairs of which she has the video clips.
