Bhubaneswar: The low pressure formed over the south Andaman sea is likely to trigger rain in several parts of Odisha from December 7, the latest forecast of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.

The Special Relief Commission (SRC) sources said the system is likely to intensify into a cyclone or deep depression on December 7 near east of Machlipatnam. Under its influence, Koraput, Gajapati, Malkangiri and Ganjam districts are likely to witness low intensity rain on December 7. The intensity of rainfall is likely to increase in interior and adjoining coastal districts of the State on December 8 and 9.
