Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Friday, forecast heavy rainfall across Odisha and issued a thunderstorm warning accompanied by lightening in six districts.
"Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over north Odisha along with heavy rainfall at one or two places over south Odisha during the next 24 hours," a latest IMD bulletin said.
Besides, the IMD said that thunderstorm with lightning is also likely to occur in Balasore, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts.

"People in these six districts may be advised to take shelter in nearby building or other safety locations," it said.
Meanwhile, sources in the IMD said that rainfall has occurred at many places with heavy rainfall at one or two places over north interior of the State.
