IIC shunted for razing maize crop to settle score

Nabarangpur: A day after Dabugaon IIC Subash Chandra Raiguru razed the full grown maize crop of a farmer by crushing it under his police vehicle at Gatiguda, the Nabarangpur SP today transferred him to the district headquarters.

Besides, a case has been registered against Raiguru at the Umerkote police station on basis of a complaint filed by farmer Pintu Bisoi with the SDPO.

Bisoi had cultivated maize crop on an encroached government land which was blocking the road to a nearby plot that belonged to father-in-law of Raiguru.

Though the IIC had earlier asked Bisoi to remove barricades, the latter did not pay any heed.

Yesterday, the IIC had arrived at the spot with some staff in a police vehicle and reportedly ran over the crop cultivated at around 30-40 decimal land destroying maize crop.
