IIC caught taking bribe in Balasore

Balasore: Vigilance sleuths today arrested Inspector-in-charge (IIC) Surendra Beuria of Baliapal police station in Balasore district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

According to sources the IIC  had demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe from a relative of one Ganesh Chandra Mohapatra, who is accused in a land dispute, for not arresting Ganesh. Later, a trap was laid and the Vigilance team caught the IIC red-handed while he was accepting Rs 10,000 from Ganesh’s relative.

Officials of the anti-corruption agency are interrogating the accused.
