Hussein grilled by NIA over terror links

Cuttack/ New Delhi:  The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Monday quizzed Akhtar Hussein Khan, a resident of Samantarapur under Kissan Nagar police limits of Cuttack over his suspected terror links.

The central agency quizzed Hussein in New Delhi today over his bank transactions and has asked him to appear again tomorrow.

“Whatever was asked by the authorities, I have stated what is the truth. All my bank details are already with the officers,” said Hussein.

Akhtar was also quizzed earlier after he was detained by NIA in Cuttack on November 29 for alleged links with a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative who was nabbed from Lucknow.

A joint team of the NIA and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had grilled Hussein at his rented accommodation in the Samantarapur slum in Cuttack.

Sources said NIA had raided Hussein’s house following inputs after arrest of suspected LeT terrorist Abdul Nayeem from Lucknow.
