Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions intensified in many parts of Odisha on Friday with Titlagarh recording the highest temperature reading of 42.5 degree Celsius, as per the weather bulletin of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The state, particularly western Odisha, virtually turned into a boiling cauldron as the mercury breached the 40 degree Celsius mark at five places. Titlagarh was followed by Sonepur, which recorded 42.4 degree celsius, while the mercury shot up to 42 degree Celsius at Bolangir, 40.6 degree Celsius at Malkangiri and 40.5 degree Celsius at Bhawanipatna.
