Bhubaneswar: While the people of coastal Odisha had a slight respite from the gruelling heat wave, there is no end to the miseries of the people in the west and central region of the state as mercury continues to stay in the forties.

A Met release this evening said Titlagarh was the hottest place in the state today at 45.5 degree Celsius while temperature went up to 40 degrees and beyond in 15 places: Chandbali (41.9), Cuttack (40.2), Bhubaneswar (40.2), Angul (43.1), Jharsuguda (42.8), Keonjhar (41.3), Sambalpur (42.8), Sundergarh (42), Hirakud (42.7), Talcher (43.5), Bhawanipatna (44), Balangir (43.5), Phulbani (40.2), Malkangiri (43.4) and Sonepur (45.1).
