Rourkela: The demand for a permanent Orissa High Court bench has gained momentum with lawyers of Rourkela Bar Association deciding to launch a week-long cease-work agitation from Monday.
Bar Association President Satya Sharma on Sunday informed that a unanimous resolution has been passed to boycott the court proceedings till February 24 as their seven-point charter of demands have not been fulfilled despite repeated requests.
Besides establishment of a permanent bench of High Court in Rourkela, their demands include immediate appointment of judges against the vacancies, establishment of a record room in Rourkela among others.
