Girl student dies after being hit by trailer

Keonjhar: Tension ran high near College chhak area near Harichandanpur here after a class IX girl student was killed after being hit by a trailer on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Reni Sahoo.

According to sources, the incident took place at 9 am. A speeding trailer hit Reni causing her death on the spot.

Irate over the incident, the locals ransacked the trailer. Besides, they also staged a road blockade on Naranpur-Duburi road demanding compensation to the family members of the victim.

Being informed about incident, police rushed to spot and started an investigation into the matter.
