Bhubaneswar: Prof Ganeshi Lal will take oath as the Governor of Odisha at a special function at Raj Bhawan here today evening.

Yesterday, Lal was given a Guard of Honour at Bhubaneswar Airport after his arrival at around 1.30 PM.

It may be mentioned here that Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik was holding additional charge as Odisha Governor from March 21 after veteran Naga leader SC Jamir completed his tenure.

On May 25, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Lal as the new Governor of Odisha, who was former chief of BJP’s Haryana unit.
