FIR filed against Talasara MLA for alleged misbehaviour with woman

Talasara: A woman lodged a police complaint against local MLA Prafulla Majhi and five others alleging misbehaviour with her in Katingadiha under Sadar police limits on Tuesday.

The woman identified as Namita Naik, daughter of Dalimba Naik, alleged in her written complaint that the legislator and his supporters tried to outrage her modesty and beat her up when she opposed.

During a visit to a fly ash brick factory owned by Majhi’s wife, Majhi and his supporters went to a nearby farm land owned by Dalimba Naik and misbehaved with his daughter while she was working, the FIR stated.

Asked about the complaint, the Talasara legislator said, “The charges are false and politically motivated.”

Sundargarh Sadar SDPO Prasant Kumar Mohanty informed Majhi has also filed a counter complaint at the Sadar police station and probe is on.
