Bargarh: In a shocking incident, a farmer lost his right hand after being attacked by a wild elephant at Semelagudia village under Gaisilat Police limits in Bargarh district this morning.

Reports said the victim, Alekh Sahu (45), had gone to his field in the morning to sow paddy seeds. While sowing seeds, a wild elephant entered the field without his knowledge and suddenly attacked him from behind. While he was trying to escape from the attack, the raging elephant crushed his right hand severing it from his shoulder. As he cried for help, some villagers rushed to the field and managed to drive away the pachyderm.
