Face-off between MBBS students and patient attendants at SCB

Cuttack: Two persons were detained by the Mangalabag police following a face-off between attendants of a patient and MBBS students at the SCB Medical College and Hospital late last night.

Sources said a woman was admitted to the casualty ward at the hospital late last night. When MBBS students on duty allegedly delayed to administer treatment to the woman, relatives of the patient opposed the medical negligence.

Angry over the question raised before them, a group of MBBS students allegedly beat up the  relatives following a verbal duel.

On receiving information, the Mangalabag police reached the spot and rescued the relatives and detained them for questioning.

Neither the MBBS students nor relatives have filed a police complaint.
