Bhubaneswar: Hitting out at the leaders who recently quit the party, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan said that such exodus will have no impact on the party and the party is still strong.

While staging a peaceful demonstration at party headquarters in Bhubaneswar today protesting violence during the Bharat Bandh held by Dalit outfits on April 2, Harichandan said, "Those who are leaving the party for personal gains will get a befitting reply from people. Congress was strong and it will continue to stay strong in future."

"The Congress party is like a mythical bird phoenix that rises from its own ashes. The party will undergo 'Nabakalebara'," added Harichandan.

It is worth mentioning that senior leader and former Union minster Chandrasekhar Sahu and three senior leaders resigned on April 4 alleging growing indiscipline within the party.

Similarly, Ollywood actor Bijay Mohanty resigned from the party on April 6.
