Malkangiri: The death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis went up to 76 in Malkangiri district today with the death of two more children.
The deceased have been identified as Susila Padiami (2) of Daniguda block and Laxmi Madkami (4) of Gamphakonda village under Kalimela block.
According to sources, elder brother of Susila, who succumbed due to the vector-borne disease, is also undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.

Yesterday, two children had died of the deadly disease. While one died at the district headquarters hospital, another succumbed due to the disease at Kalimela hospital.
