Elephant calf found dead in Balasore

Balasore: The body of a baby elephant was found near Balianala Beathouse under Kuldiha forest division of Balasore district on Thursday morning.

According to sources, the villagers spotted the carcass near a canal and informed the forest officials, who rushed to the spot and started investigation.

The officials recovered the carcass infected with insects and later buried it in the forest.

The actual cause of the death can be ascertained only after the autopsy report is received, said a forest official.
