Elderly woman charred to death in Angul

Angul: An elderly woman was charred to death while she was warming himself around a fire at Bhangamunda Village under Kishore Nagar police station in Angul district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Budhei Sahu. Sources said Sahu while Budhei was taking rest near a fire to keep her warm in the winter night. But due to carelessness, her clothes caught fire. After noticing the fire, some neighbours informed the fire brigade, following which the a firefighting team reached the spot and rescued Budhei in critical condition. Though she was rushed to the Kishore Nagar community health centre (CHC), doctors declared her brought dead.

Later, police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
