Elderly couple thrashed by son, lodges police complaint

Koraput: An elderly couple in Kotpad area in Koraput lodged a police complaint today after allegedly being thrashed by their son over a trivial matter.

The elderly man carried his wife, who is unable to walk due to old age, to the police station and filed a complaint against his son, who reportedly beat the couple for felling a bamboo tree.

As per the complaint, Sonu Hala from Kusumiguda village had cut a tree without informing his son and it led to a heated argument between the father and son.

Subsequently, the son beat the couple and threw them out of the house, informed sources. Left with no options, the old man decided to carry his wife to the police station and lodge a complaint.

While two police officials went to Hala's house, they were unable to trace the accused.

An investigation is currently underway.
