Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, an elderly couple was found dead at Jharakata village under Rajakanika police limits in the district today.
The body of 65-year old Bhagaban Das was lying in the cowshed while his wife Marua was found lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom.
Though police are yet to divulge details of the incident saying investigation is on, they suspect it to be a case of murder.
According to the son of the couple, who works in an automobile garage at Aul, his parents had a feud among themselves yesterday following which his father was in deep mental agony.
However, a neighbour said the son of the couple had a dispute with the elderly parents. He quarrelled with them frequently. He had returned to the home last night and left for the garage late in the night.
Following the statement of the neighbour, Rajkanika police have detained the son and are interrogating him.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. The cause of the death can only be ascertained after the autopsy report comes, police said.
