Bhubaneswar: The ruckus and the drama has been too overwhelming to have overshadowed the fact that the woman who has been held for hurling eggs at the CM is a lactating mother to a 8-month-old infant boy.
It has already been 8 days that the infant has not found the lap of his mother, Rajeswari Kamila, who after being allegedly thrashed and harassed in presence of the CM was arrested on charges of attempt to murder. Though attempt to murder charges have been dropped, her health condition deteriorated in custody and she had to be moved from the jail to the hospital. She was shifted to the Cuttack medical yesterday.
The infant boy is being looked after by her aunt as his father has also been lodged in jail on charges of hatching a conspiracy to attack CM with eggs.
The couple also has a daughter studying in Class II who is oblivious about the whereabouts of her parents.
"The child is crying a lot yearning for his mother. We are somehow managing to feed him," said the infant's aunt, Arti Kamila.
"Everyone is saying that my parents have gone on a tour. I haven't seen them nor had a word with them," said Rajeswari's daughter.
On the other hand, Rajeswari's mother, with the help of representatives of BJP has approached the Odisha Human Rights Commission seeking justice.
She alleged that her daughter's health condition has deteriorated because she was sent to jail by police while she was under treatment and also subjected to torture.
"I demand justice for my daughter. She has an eight-month-old baby," said Rajeswari's mother, Jayanti Mohanty.
Meanwhile, Rajeswari who has been admitted to Cuttack medical is being treated by a team of 8 doctors, who have claimed that her health condition is stable.
"The doctor who is treating her has informed that there is nothing to worry. She doesn't need an ICU but keeping in view the law and order situation, we have kept her there," said Cuttack medical superintendent, Shyama Kanungo.
