Bhubaneswar: A day after the arrest of a Railway employee from Jharkhand by the Commissionerate police on the charge of defrauding Rs 22 lakh from five youths with a promise to provide them a job in the Railways, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Tuesday said it would recommend the CBI to probe into the incident.

“We are really shocked to know that despite no involvement, some contract labourers and anti-socials are trying to defame ECoR. These people are exploiting people by collecting money from them with a promise to provide them job in the Railways by mentioning the name of some officers and issuing fake appointment letters to them. Taking this into consideration, we have decided to bring out advertisement in the media to clarify the railway recruitment procedure to the people that no recruitment is made without any notification. Through the advertisement, we also will request the people that if they have received any appointment letter through other process other than the standing rules of the Railways, they must contact the sources to verify the authenticity of the signature mentioned in their appointment letter”, ECoR Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Manju Ray told media persons here.
