Phulbani: Eardrum of a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tudipaju, under Phulbani Tehsil in Kandhamal district, has ruptured after alleged beating and ragging by seniors.
Plus Two students of the school had allegedly thrashed a ninth class student due to which the latter was severely injured and his eardrum was ruptured. He has also received grave injuries on his waist, said his family members.
The incident occurred on last Friday after which the school authorities admitted the injured student at Phulbani hospital. Getting the information, his family members shifted him to MKCG medical college and hospital in Berhampur where he is undergoing treatment.
While no formal complaint of the incident has been filed and the school authorities are also silent on it, Kandhamal Collector has instructed the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) to probe on the incident and submit a report.
