Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown on the increasing drug racket in twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate police on Monday arrested kingpin of the illicit business Pramod Jena alias Gulshan from CDA Phase-II area of Cuttack.
Two aides of Jena have also been arrested. Police have seized 350gm brown sugar, one car, three mobile phones and cash from their possession.
Sources said market price of the contraband would be around Rs 7 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off police raided the house in the area and arrested all three.
Jena was in police radar after the illegal drug peddling in Haladipadia slum of the capital city made headlines last month. Ever since police was tracking his activities and was in search of a suitable time to nab him.
It is said that Jena used to get the contraband from Jaleswar and supply it in the city through agents.
