Double murder: Woman, niece found dead in locked house

Rourkela: A woman and her 16-year-old niece were found dead in mysterious conditions in a locked house at Kalinga Vihar in Chhend Colony here today.

The deceased were identified as Istar Lenka and her niece Madhusmita Sahu. Grievous injuries were found on their heads, said police sources.

Sources said the door of the house was locked from inside while the window was found broken. Lenka, a teacher, had been in a live-in relationship with one Braja Sundar Sahu after her husband’s death and both used to live in the house where the incident has taken place. Though the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, It is suspected that some miscreants have killed them two days ago and fled away.

Meanwhile, police reached the spot and have started investigation into the incident.
