Doctor slaps attendant, apologises for misconduct

Nabarangapur: In a shocking incident, a doctor allegedly slapped a patient's attendant at the Districts Headquarters Hospital here on Sunday.

According to the reports, Renuta Khura, daughter of Rajendra Khura from Semala village was hospitalised with sickle-cell disease and was undergoing treatment here.

An altercation ensued between the doctor at the DHH, Chinmay Bala and Rajendra over bringing the medicines prescribed by the doctor. The doctor soon lost his temper and allegedly slapped Rajendra after that.

While initially the attendant demanded action, the matter was resolved after the doctor accepted his fault and apologised for his misconduct.
