Doctor on duty attacked in Kuchinda

Kuchinda: A doctor on duty at the Kuchinda sub divisional hospital has sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a youth on Monday.

The doctor, identified Subodh Nayak, was in his chamber in the hospital, when one Rinku Soni went into the room and started attacking Nayak with a steel stool. Later the attacker fled the spot.

Nayak has sustained injuries in head and is undergoing treatment at the Burla hospital.

Though exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, police have initiated a probe.

Meanwhile, staff of the hospital met Sambalpur Sub Collector Biswaranjan Nayak demanding strict action against the culprit and steps to ensure their safety.
