Cuttack: Court of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate in Cuttack has allowed the Commissionerate Police to conduct DNA test of the baby girl and the couple who alleged that their baby boy was swapped with the girl in the SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
The blood samples of the infant and the couple will be sent for DNA test, informed the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Manglabag police station Arun Kumar Swain.
"We had sought permission from the court to conduct DNA test of the child and the court has granted it. The blood sample has been collected and will be sent to State Forensic Science Laboratory in Bhubaneswar for the test," said Swain.
As per reports, Prahlad Mohapatra from Jajpur district had admitted his wife at the hospital after she complained of labour pain. A baby girl was handed over to them on January 26 but they claimed that the child is not theirs.
Later on January 29, they lodged a complaint at Mangalabag police station alleging their baby has been swapped with another one.
