Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police today quizzed two doctors in connection with the disability certificate issue to the wife of Himansu Kar, an aide of arrested Motilal Gouda.
The two doctors questioned by the Crime Branch today are former doctor of the Capital Hospital SK Meher and former audiologist of the same hospital Khiroda Panda, who were members of the medical board that recommended the disability certificate to Srabani, the wife of Himanshu, in 2008. Both of them denied any role in the issuance of the document.
Meher told newsmen, “They (Crime Branch) showed me a document and asked me whether it was my signature and whether was a member of the board and was working with the hospital. I was only the countersigning authority.”
Expressing ignorance about the certificate, audiologist Panda said, “I cannot say whether I have done it or not. Those who were members of the board said as I was the audiologist they had given the certificate on basis of my report. However, I did not find my report here.”
Notably, yesterday, ENT doctor Santosh Panda was quizzed by the Crime Branch in the same case.
