Sundergarh: Police today arrested two persons on allegations of sexually assaulting and impregnating a physically challenged minor girl in Katakhandi slum under Bonai police limits of Sundergarh district.
The family of the Dibyang girl lodged a complaint at the police station following which police arrested the two accused in the incident, identified as Banu Naik and Banti Kisan of the same locality.
As per the allegations of her family members, the duo tempted the girl in various ways and had maintained a physical relationship with her for the last six months.
The matter came to fore after the family came to know about the girl’s pregnancy and immediately lodged a police complaint. The girl is five-month pregnant, the family further stated.
Meanwhile, Bonai police has detained the two accused and is interrogating them. Further investigation into the matter is on, sources said.
