Diarrhoea claims four lives in 2 days in Kashipur

Rayagada: At least four persons have died of Diarrhoea in the last two days in Khurigaon Panchayat under Kashipur Tehsil of Rayagada district.

While two persons died at Jyotiguda Village under the panchayat on Thursday, two more succumbed to the disease in Khurigaon village today.

The deceased have been identified as Prasna Khadia, Baisali Khadia of Gatiguda village and Sukru Mediri, Phulmati Nayak of Khurigaon village.

Meanwhile, a mobile health unit has reached the panchayat and is treating the affected people. "We are treating the patients and the reason behind the deaths will be clear after examinations. Out of 13 to 14 persons who were treated for minor ailments, four to five had high fever and have been shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC)," said a doctor of the health unit.
