Bhubaneswar: With the deep depression over Bay of Bengal gradually weakening, rainfall is likely to decrease significantly in many parts of the state. However the southern and coastal regions of Odisha are likely to experience rainfall during next 12 hours, sources in the Regional Meteorological Department said.
The Met Department in its latest bulletin said that as per the observations received, heavy rainfall at one or two places over interior parts of the state is expected during the period. This apart, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over the coastal regions during the next 12 hours.
Sea condition would be moderate to rough along and off Odisha coast, it said, cautioning the fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast as the condition will remain rough.
The state has been experiencing rainfall since November 13, due to a low pressure formation, which later intensified into a depression over the Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, farmers across the state are worried as their paddy fields have been submerged in many coastal districts.
