Bhubaneswar/ Cuttack: After MIL-Odia, the question paper of English subject doing rounds on social media has certainly raised serious doubts over the 'internal vigil' by the authorities responsible for the conduct of the matriculation examination in the State.
Though the source from where the English question paper was uploaded and circulated on social media on Monday it is yet to be ascertained, Odisha government ordered for a Crime Branch probe into the matter today.
Refuting allegations of question paper leak, School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra informed that a photograph of the MIL question paper was not leaked but circulated on social media hours after the start of the matriculation examination at around 10 AM on February 23.
Moreover, Crime Branch ADG has been asked to conduct a detailed probe in this connection.
Meanwhile, a team of Crime Branch started a probe into the incident today.
A two-member team of the Cyber Cell met senior officials of Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Cuttack to get first hand information about the possible lapses that could have occurred.
Sources said the inquiry has begun after BSE officials lodged a written complaint with Crime Branch about the particular incident where photographs of the first paper MIL-Odia was circulated on social media barely an hour after the start of the examination.
Though BSE had issued fresh notice regarding stricter enforcement of mobile phone ban at exam centres, such measures have failed to yield results so far as for the second time today English subject question paper was circulated on social media today.
Repeated instances of question papers going viral on social media has now become a major concern as it appears that Board of Secondary Education (BSE) officials have failed to ensure a complete check on the entry of mobile phones inside examination centres.
