Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Monday said it will probe why a lady police officer went to the house of Pankaj Mahakud, son of Champua legislator Sanatan Makhakud, to record his statement in connection with a torture case filed by woman claiming to be Pankaj's wife.

A few days back, lady police officer Bijayini Malla of the Mahila Police Station here had visited Pankaj’s home in Keonjhar district to record his statement in the case, after he failed to depose before the police. The police had served a notice on him and asked him to physically appear in the Mahila Police station and record his statement within 15 days.
