Bhubaneswar: The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here on Friday allowed the Commissionerate Police to take arrested sex racket kingpin Sunil Meher on a four-day remand for further investigation.
The Commissionerate Police had prayed for a five-day remand of Meher, who was arrested by the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Twin Cities police in Kolkata on Thursday.
Sources said during the remand, the police will try to elicit information from Meher about his network through which he managed to run the sex racket.
Apart from this, the investigating team will try to find out how Meher brought foreign young women into the State as part of his sleaze business.
Meher, who is wanted in nine cases, is notorious for running sex rackets both within the State as well as outside.
