Close shave for 40 passengers after tanker hits tourist bus

Koraput: It was a close shave for 40 passengers as the tourist bus they were travelling skidded off the road after being hit by a speeding tanker near Hatapada in Kunduli of Koraput district in the wee hours on Sunday.

Sources said, all the passengers from Kunduli, who had returned after a religious expedition after a month, had already deboarded when the tanker bearing Andhra Pradesh registration number rammed into the tourist bus.

It is suspected that the mishap occurred due to rash driving and poor visibility due to dense fog in the region.

Following the incident, Pottangi police reached the spot and have started investigation.
