Chit fund scam: Seashore CMD Prashant Das granted bail

Bhubaneswar: The Dhenkanal district and sessions judge today granted bail to Seashore Group chief Prashant Das against Rs 2 lakh bail bond and two sureties.

A day after his release from the Jharpara circle jail here on January 5, Das was arrested again in connection with three chit fund-related cases pending with Dhenkanal police.

He was taken on a five-day remand and later on a three-day remand by the Dhenkanal police for interrogation.

"The additional district and sessions judge was very much judicious while hearing the bail plea," said Das' lawyer Vishnu Kalyan Mangraj.
