Bhubaneswar: The Justice MM Das Commission of Inquiry, which is probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha, has prepared a list of small investors who had invested their money in several chit fund companies.
Out of a total of 187 chit fund companies identified by the Commission, 36 have been served notice to place their version regarding the small investors who had invested Rs 10,000 or less in their company.
The Commission, after examining the versions of these companies, will start hearing the cases from September 1 and is most likely submit another interim report to the state government.
The Commission has identified the small investors after verifying 61,215 affidavits it had received from them between August 22 and 31 in 2013.
Notably, the Commission had submitted its first interim report to the Odisha government on May 25 this year.
