Kendrapara: A day after tension erupted in Kendrapara over circulation of some objectionable posts aimed at hurting sentiments of a particular community through social media on Wednesday, Central Range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi reached the town today to take stock of the situation.
The IG chaired a peace meeting in the presence of heads of different communities in the area.
As many as five platoons of police force have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward situation.
Apprehending unrest, the Chief Minister's Office has instructed clamping down of internet services in the town for 48 hours.
It is noteworthy that a similar video flared up unrest in Bhadrak district some time ago with the town still under curfew regulations for some hours.
