Balasore: The Odisha police and paramilitary forces today conducted a flag march in some areas of Soro municipality in Balasore district where Section 144 CrPC was imposed following tension over immersion of Ganesh idol.
The police said that when the immersion procession was passing Pathan Mahalla in the Soro market area last night, an altercation took place between two groups of people followed by brick-batting.
Seven people were injured in the clash. The situation was brought to normal by police intervention, but tension resurfaced today when a peace committee meeting was in progress in the area.
Three platoons of Rapid Action Force and other armed police forces have been deployed in the sensitive areas in Soro town.
