Balasore: Taking note of rising incidence of criminal activities and road accidents in Balasore town, the district police today installed CCTV cameras to keep tabs on anti-social elements and traffic violators.
Inaugurating CCTV surveillance system, Balasore SP Niti Sekhar said in the first phase four CCTV cameras have been installed at Phandi Chhak. “We have planned to install CCTV cameras at sensitive locations at Cinema Bazar, Motiganj, ITI Square, Police Line Square, Station Square and ADM Square”, he added.
Talking about the arrangements the district police has made for the Durga Puja, the SP said 40 platoons of police force and plain-clothed policemen have been deployed in the town. “Apart from this, we have also started bike patrolling in the town during the puja festivities”, he informed.
