Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Taking cognisance of the increasing rate of online child sexual abuse, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to install jammers to prevent students from being abused sexually on the internet.
Replying to the Supreme Court, the government said that it has already asked CBSE to put jammers and ensure that no one can access porn websites on the premises of schools.
The apex court was hearing a petition seeking a directive to the government to block all websites that contains pornographic contents.
However, installation of jammers in school buses as part of steps to prevent students from accessing online pornography in schools is difficult.
As most of the schools are now giving priority to computer education and the usage of internet at an early age, students are getting vulnerable to online sexual exploitation.

Besides, a government committee has recommended that the internet service providers should disable all websites containing child porn till it comes out with a centralised mechanism to monitor such sites.
As per reports, as many as 3,522 porn sites were blocked in June.
Earlier, a report of the National Crime Records Bureau had found 96 reports of children being sexually exploited online.
